Art Adventures for Kids is an after-school
multimedia art program for 3rd-5th grade students currently offered at Clyde Hill and Enatai Elementary Schools in Bellevue.
Class will meet at both Clyde Hill and Enatai Elementary Schools in their STEM rooms. Students will come to class directly after the school day. At the end of class, students will be escorted to the school entrance. Students will be signed out to designated parents or guardians only.
We always encourage creativity, so your child's may end up looking different than the examples pictured. While many projects will be completed in a
90-minute session, some might take more than one session.
Students use a variety of materials to create their projects. Meg and Melinda model all the steps and provide all art materials including aprons for each child to wear.
Art Adventures for Kids will provide a snack (no nuts) at the beginning of each weekly session, (or student artists may choose to bring their own).
Art Adventures for Kids will not turn away any child because of an inability to pay. Please indicate financial need on the registration form and Art Adventures for Kids will work with registrants to determine an appropriate fee schedule.​​
​Class minimum of 4 students must be met 48 hours before class begins, or class will be cancelled. In this case, refunds will be given to all who have already paid. Class capped at 10 students.

Full refund for cancellations 7 days or more in advance of the first class. No refunds for cancellations less than 7 days before first class. There will be a $25 processing fee for refunds or cancellations.

Absence policy: because our classes are so small, there are no refunds/credits for absences.
About Us
Melinda Schneider and Meg Pearson are the co-owners and founders of Art Adventures for Kids. Great friends since elementary school, together they bring skills in art, design and teaching, along with a healthy dose of joy in working with children. In a world growing more complicated every day, they strive to bring a simple message to students:
"You are important, your art is important and there is joy and fun to be found in every day,
sometimes in the most unexpected places!"

Meg Pearson
A former Peace Corps Volunteer, natural resources project manager and elementary school teacher, Meg has devoted her professional life to service. Her varied experiences in the field plus her many years teaching 1st and 4th grades allowed her to blend her knowledge of the natural world with her teaching, providing students opportunities to make deeper connections to what they were learning. Finding ways to incorporate and teach different kinds of art to her students has always been a particular joy for Meg.
Throughout her teaching career, she added in extra art at every opportunity, believing that art adds depth to any curriculum. Beyond its value in extending and deepening curricular content, however, she holds a valuable avenue for self-expression at any age.
Like Melinda, Meg is an outdoor enthusiast, and she loves to be out on her bicycle or out walking in the woods, hunting for mushrooms, and keeping an ear and eye for birds and other wildlife, particularly our native bees. She often volunteers in the classrooms at her old school, gravitating to the art room whenever possible.
Melinda Schneider
Melinda leveraged her business degree and graphic design background, to establish a full-service graphic design firm with a team of five. Her company, Visual Communications, produced multimedia presentations, websites, and brochures for clients ranging from local Seattle area businesses to Fortune 500 companies. Her design experience included working two years at Microsoft designing PowerPoint presentations for Bill Gates and the office of the president, then traveling nationally and internationally to Microsoft conferences supporting Bill and the other top execs with their presentations.
Melinda enjoys being with kids and has volunteered as a coach for Girls on the Run and a student tutor for KidReach. She also supported local elementary school teachers in math, reading, and art.
An avid hiker, mountain biker, skier and snowboarder, Melinda finds beauty and inspiration from the natural world. She also enjoys reading, gardening, and traveling.
